Philadelphia or bust!
I’m in Philadelphia for the Buyers Market of American Craft. I drove down on Wednesday in what turned out to be a full-on blizzard.
I’m grateful that I made it safely, that I somehow stayed in the moment, and that my cell phone enabled me to make calls to you and M and get emotional and practical support, including weather radar readings and alternate driving directions when I got to Philly and found my exit closed off.
Also grateful that I had happy music and a book on tape, a jar of almonds, and bottles of water, all much needed during the seven and a half hours it ended up taking (twice the usual time).
Thankful for indoor parking at the end of the road, a comfortable bed, and room service. Scallion pancakes and stir fried green beans never tasted so good.
