grateful today

Friends came to visit for the 4th of July weekend, and there were many, many enjoyable moments:

Perfect weather every day. Low humidity.

The easy fit of deep friendship.

Scavenging blueberries along the trail at Sam’s Point.

Tickle sessions.

Playing with beads.

Watching Harry Potter.

Knitting on the porch.

Drinking beer while watching someone else weed my garden.

Cooking together.

Hot dogs.

Dishes washed in the blink of an eye.

Pie procured for us by M. Two kinds.

Talking spy gear construction with a 6-year-old.

Watching the 4th of July parade.

Sitting in a field waiting for the fireworks to start, and talking in the dark. The sound of booming ricocheting off the mountain.

Teaching the kids our songs about the cats and singing them over and over.
