grateful today

The mountain of snow shoved up from the driveway over the winter has melted through its stages of gray dreariness down to a scattering of gravel. There are signs of green!!

Spinach that I planted too late in the fall is growing happily now.

I didn’t think the strawberries in the plant pot would survive, but hey!

The Rugosa Roses have sprouted growth in the last two days.

Daffodils were already growing under the snow, faster now that it’s gone.

I love green.

The way Happy sits on her butt like a human, not on her haunches.

Bed. I love my bed.

I can do more push-ups now than ever in my life.

I’m grateful I’m not doing push-ups right now.

I am sometimes interested these days in comforting rather than being comforted, in understanding rather than being understood.  More than I’ve ever been.  Less than I hope to be in the future!
