tuesday gratitude

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

I discovered the music of Ted Hawkins and Adele’s new album this weekend.  Both great.

I’m getting a new co-worker to help manage the workload.

Two fellow students want to research *my* idea for a class project.

An event that keeps getting hung up isn’t dead yet, perhaps we’ll just change the details.  Or maybe we won’t.  Today I feel able to let go of the outcome and just keep doing the tasks.

stone fruit

I too am grateful for stone fruit, in my case in tree form. We planted 3 fruit trees — cherry, peach and plum — and I have the beginning of a home orchard, and already some tiny, hard peaches.

Here’s hoping they’ll ripen and become jam.

I have more than enough money, time, and love today.

stone fruit

Thursday, May 26th, 2011

I’ve been trying to eat more food that’s local and in season. But recently had to splurge on a bunch of peaches and apricots and plums from far away lands. So delicious!

I’m grateful that I can eat almost anything I want almost any time of year.  My ancestors would probably be down to the last few shriveled apples in May, waiting months for the berries to come in.  Or maybe they would still have some delicious jam left….

wednesday gratitude

Wednesday, May 25th, 2011

It’s a warm rain.

I’ve stepped off the Victim-Rescuer-Persecutor triangle.  No thank you.

Home fries.

Happy came back from her morning escape happy and tired and unharmed.

Re-reading The Secret Garden.
